Avengers: Endgame trailer breakdown

Following on from the events of Avengers: Infinity War, it shows the superheroes who were wiped out by Thanos (Josh Brolin) and those left behind.

True Believers, you've now seen the second official trailer for Marvel Studios' "Avengers: Endgame" this morning.

The trailer opens with a stranded-in-space Tony Stark recording a message to Pepper Potts, reminiscing about his early days as Iron Man.

Captain Marvel earned US$500 million (S$680 million) worldwide in less than a week while Wonder Woman raked in more than US$800 million. What exactly that will entail is still up in the air, and if that is the case, it could include Steve Rogers getting his "retirement" with Peggy Carter (even though she went on to live a full life without Steve in current continuity). However, towards the end of the trailer, there's an unfamiliar face in Avenger series, and if you've watched the trailer, you'd know it's Brie Larson from Captain Marvel who has come to join the Earth's mightiest heroes.

"I keep telling everybody they should move on", a somber Captain America says in the dreary trailer.

How did he get back?

"We truly admire your anticipation for watching Captain Marvel in your nearest Cinepax cinemas". We also get a fantastic money shot that showcases the new lineup of Avengers getting ready to enter battle in their shiny red-and-white costumes aka the Quantum Realm suits.

"I like this one", Thor announces to the room.

The studio has also dropped a gorgeous new poster alongside the trailer, which somehow is better still than the one they cooked up for Infinity War. The cast, according to this poster, includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper, and Josh Brolin. The film is slated for an April 26 release.
