Trump will call for unity in today's State of the Union address

The president is expected to dedicate a chunk of his address before Congress to championing a southern border wall, the main sticking point he's had with the Democrats since they took power in the House of Representatives. Dems do nothing. If there is no Wall, there is no Security. "Human Trafficking, Drugs and Criminals of all dimensions - KEEP OUT!" he tweeted Sunday. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who won plaudits from Democrats for her hard-line negotiating tactics during the shutdown, will be seated behind the president - a visual reminder of Trump's political opposition.

"I don't take anything off the table", Trump said in the interview.

According to the Congressional Research Service (CRS), the president has certain other authorities to construct barriers along the border without declaring a national emergency.

Sen. Lindsey Graham said the Republican Party is very divided over the border wall and argued that President Trump choosing to declare a national emergency to build the structure could mean war within the GOP. A congressional committee is trying to reach an agreement on border security after the record 35-day government closing ended January 25. In my opinion Trump not open to solving the problem with more drones and border control guards advances the argument that this is pure politics on Trump's part. "Unfortunately, we have real problems in this country and around the globe that are urgent and need addressing".

The funding for the construction of a physical barrier along the southern border was the focal point of the recent government shutdown, which became the longest in US history. "I think Nancy Pelosi is doing a bad disservice to the people of our country". "You're also going to see the president call on Congress and say, 'Look, we can either work together and get great things done or we can fight each other and get nothing done.' And frankly, the American people deserve better than that".

"This really is an invasion of our country by human traffickers, these are people that are terrible people, bringing in women mostly, but bringing in women and children, into our country, human trafficking and we're gonna have a strong border, and the only way you have a strong border is you need a physical barrier, you need a wall", he stated. He ultimately agreed to reopen the government for three weeks to allow negotiations on border security to continue.
