The world No.1 took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to announce her shock split with Bajin.

"I will no longer be working together with Sascha".

The split comes just three weeks after the 21-year-old claimed her second straight major title at the Australian Open, which launched her to World No.1.

Bajin, a former hitting partner to Serena Williams, responded: "Thank you Naomi".

"Thank you Naomi. I wish you nothing but the best as well", Bajin said.

Osaka, who is scheduled to compete in Dubai next week, began sounding out potential replacements late previous year, local media reported.

Japanese sensation Osaka clinched her first ever Grand Slam at the US Open in NY a year ago with an impressive win over all-time great Serena Williams in the final, a victory somewhat overshadowed by a Serena tantrum that snowballed into a media furore over perceived sexism by an umpire.

Under Bajin, Osaka rose from world number 72 at the start of 2018 to the summit of the rankings little over a year later.

Osaka hired Bajin in 2017 and enjoyed a meteoric rise during the time they worked together.

He replied to Osaka on Twitter by saying: "Thank you Naomi".

Osaka, who withdrew from this week's Qatar Open citing a back injury, beat Petra Kvitova in three sets in the Australian Open final on January 26.
