Fortnite Share The Love Event - Overtime Challenges & Rewards, Double XP Weekend & Competitive

Also arriving with the 7.40 update will be a new set of Overtime challenges, which will be available through the end of the season. Starting in the v7.40 Fortnite update, players will have access to overtime challenges.

Featuring a host of skins for the player as well as in-game vehicles and weapons, the '#ShareTheLove' event starts from February 8 and will continue till February 27.

If you're one of those players who always knocks out all the Weekly Challenges that you have and find yourself wanting more challenges to keep busy with, then good news is coming down the pipeline. Complete challenges and earn sweet rewards all while shooting for that glorious Victory Royale win! Battle Pass owners will also receive some cool unlockable styles for the Power, Trog and Onesie outfits when they complete all the Overtime Challenges.

Besides this there will be a "Share the Love" Competitive Series which will entail several placement matches being run on the weekend of February 9 and 10 and there will be seeding in this series. "Don't worry, we're keeping track", say Epic.

A final sneaky detail: the post notes that the Share the Love event ends on February 27, "right before the arrival of Season 8".

Finally, the event will also showcase a rotating set of featured islands, celebrating the games community creators.

Time will surely tell whether the new competitive series is well-received by players, but it should at least calm the fears of those who thought Epic Games would fail to adapt in the presence of Apex Legends. Players who perform well during these placement matches will be placed directly into the higher divisions, with four divisions running simultaneously each day; from lowest to highest, these divisions are Open Division, Prospect Division, Contender Division, and Champion Division, and players can unlock the next division by earning a pin during a daily session.

This event is all about you and your squad, enjoy it! Anyone playing during either February 15-17 or February 22-24 will earn bonus XP.
