Everyone Is Taking The P*ss Out Of Manchester United

Arsene Wenger has criticised Manchester United's performance against PSG in the Champions League on Tuesday night and says they were completely blown away in midfield.

And they will be without influential midfielder Paul Pogba in Paris on March 6 as the France worldwide was dismissed in the closing stages, referee Daniele Orsato showing him a second yellow card after a foul on Dani Alves.

We're going to have to go there, believe in ourselves, play a good game and improve from today obviously.

"Manchester United should be at the top and this is a top team we've played against".

Solskjaer's United were put to the sword after making two enforced changes around half time - Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial were replaced by Alexis Sanchez and Juan Mata - and it ultimately saw their hard-pressing game fall by the wayside.

PSG had to cope without the injured Neymar and Edison Cavani, two thirds of their attack, yet remained a real threat in the final third with Julian Draxler and Angel Di Maria causing United problems.

And while Hargreaves felt United were lacking their usual spark, the ex-Bayern Munich man insisted there was little wrong with the football they were playing.

"And we are looking to strengthen the squad and then again we have so many young players to take a step up for next season".

After 10 wins from his first 11 games in charge, Solskjaer admitted the French champions had given them a "reality check".

Twenty years after winning the Champions League as a United player, this was Solskjaer's first taste of the competition in management having only previously coached Molde in his native Norway and Cardiff before being hired by United. We're going to continue.

Former United winger Di Maria, booed from the outset by sections of the crowd, had the last laugh when he collected a fine pass from Marquinhos and set up Mbappe for the second goal.

Fans will be waiting with bated breath for a diagnosis on both as United face a trip to Chelsea in the FA Cup on Monday, before tough Premier League games including rivals Liverpool's trip to Old Trafford, all ahead of the second leg. Any hope of a United comeback in Paris suffered another huge blow when Pogba was dismissed late on for catching Dani Alves with a raised boot.
