In addition to the big screen, Xiaomi equipped the Redmi Note 7 with a massive 4,000mAh non-replaceable battery, and thanks to a USB-C port it can charge up quite quickly with an optional 9V/2A charger (standard 5V/2A included), topping it up to 100 percent in around 1 hour 40 minutes. It also has a radically different design, especially for Xiaomi smartphones-a 2.5D glass back panel with dual tone gradient.

Under the hood, the Redmi Note 7 is powered by Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 7 in three variants- 3GB+32GB, 4GB+64GB and 6GB+64GB. Redmi Note 7 will be the first device to arrive under the independent brand, and one of the most distinct parts of this smartphone is the lack of Mi branding.

Chinese smartphone major Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi Note 7 at an event in Beijing today. The phone also has a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 256GB.

Software: Sadly, the Redmi Note 7 runs MIUI 9 based on Android Oreo.

-The Redmi Note 7 is the first Note phone from Xiaomi to come with a waterdrop notch display. On the camera front, the Redmi 6 Pro has two cameras on the back and one selfie camera on the front. It has better specs, a more premium looking build, a higher resolution camera and longer warranty while maintaining the same affordable price tag. Right below the cameras there's the LED flash, and next to which there is a circular fingerprint sensor. The smartphone flaunts an AI dual camera with 12MP primary sensor and 5MP secondary camera. However, it's not clear if Xiaomi will be releasing the Redmi 7 or Redmi Note 7 at that event. USB-C, headphone jack, IR-blaster, gotta catch em all.

The Redmi Note 7 has been launched at a starting price of 999 yuan, which roughly translates to Rs 10,500. It is important to note that the Redmi Note 7 India launch details are yet to be revealed by Xiaomi, but like all Redmi Note phones, we believe the Redmi Note 7 will also hit the Indian shores. The 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant of the Redmi Y2 can now be bought for Rs 10,999.
