That said, The Division 2 PC's price in India is $42 (close to Rs. 2,960) on the Epic Games Store, making on par with recent Ubisoft releases on Steam like Assassin's Creed Odyssey (although that along with Far Cry 5 and The Crew 2 launched at Rs. 3,499 on Steam).

Since the Epic Game Store's launch, some PC gamers have expressed annoyance at being asked to manage another online store and game launcher in addition to Steam's de facto Steam standard.

"We entrust Epic to deliver a smooth journey for our fans, from pre-ordering the game and enjoying our beta to the launch of "Tom Clancy's The Division 2" on March 15", said Ubisoft vice president of partnerships Chris Early. The company aimed to distinguish itself from industry giant Valve and its Steam platform with the promise of a better cut for developers: Where Steam gives developers 70 percent of net revenue, rising to 75 percent and 80 percent when games hit $10 million and $50 million revenue milestones, Epic's default cut sees developers receive 88 percent of the revenue raised - putting it firmly towards the top of the market, below only indie-focused's 90 percent default cut.

"We entrust Epic to deliver a smooth journey for our fans, from preordering the game and enjoying our Beta to the launch of Tom Clancy's The Division 2 on March 15", Ubisoft vice president of partnerships Chris Early said in the announcement. Epic said it will "work to integrate key components of Ubisoft's Uplay and Epic's online services to provide gamers from both ecosystems with more seamless social features and interoperability".

It appears that The Division 2 for PC on the Epic Games Store has regional pricing. As for why Ubisoft would dump Steam?

This makes Ubisoft the first major third-party publisher to partner with Epic on its Games Store.

In December past year, Fortnite and Unreal engine maker Epic launched its own digital PC game store.

If you were hoping to pick up Tom Clancy's The Division 2 on Steam or most other third-party distributors on PC then you're out of luck. They will reveal more details later this year.

Epic's announcement doesn't mention Steam, but we have just learned that The Division 2's Steam store page no longer exists.
