LG Unveils the World’s First Rollable OLED TV

The price for the LG product hasn't been released, but going off the company's $8,000 "wallpaper" OLED TV from 2018, this new television won't come cheap.

LG's extraordinary wallpaper-like Signature OLED TV W, released previous year, is still priced over £3,800 for the 65-inch model. The latest OLED screen by LG Display which made its debut at the ongoing CES 2019 in Los Angeles. The South Korean company first showcased a prototype, a rollable OLED TV at last year's CES. Full View provides a large-screen binge-watching experience that's complete with high-quality AI picture and sound settings. It offers users three modes - Full View, Line View and Zero View.

Additionally, the Signature's "Zero View" configuration retracts the entire television's display, transforming the Signature OLED TV R into what amounts to a fairly powerful speaker system thanks to a 4.2-channel, 100W, front-firing, Dolby Atmos soundbar built into the device's aluminum and wood body. "The panel is of 65" dimensions - we now don't have any more information about the technical specifcations of the panel, other than it is seemingly powered by LG's newly announced second generation Alpha9 SoC.

This comes a year after LG added Google Assistant to its flagship TVs, which remains available on 2019 models.

LG has not announced pricing or availability for the OLED TV R or either new 8K TV, but they are expected to hit the market in the second half of 2019. The Alexa integration lets supported LG TVs function like a smart display or Fire TV device, showing information retrieved by Alexa on the screen and easily accessing Amazon Prime Music and Video content.

The company also showed off its new home brewing beer system for the first time, having first announced it previous year.
