The first teaser of the final season of the popular show, Game of Thrones, has dropped online. It was previously revealed that Season 8 would also host eight new characters. While it did not feature any new episodes in 2018, Game Of Thrones was still the most highly-pirated series of the year, going neck-and-neck The Walking Dead, which took the crown for the most-pirated show with new episodes in 2018. Get pumped, people - Game of Mother Effing Thrones is nearly back, and I can't wait to see how showrunners David Benioff and D.B. In a one minute and 44 second teaser released Sunday, Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) are seen in the crypts of Winterfell. The signal of the White Walkers causes Jon and Arya to draw their blades, anticipating the coming fight. And of course, Jon will finally realise the truth of his parentage in the finale, that in fact he is not a complete Stark as he believes himself to be, but is half Stark and half Targaryen.

During the Golden Globes, HBO also released a sizzle reel for its 2019 programming, including a very brief scene where Sansa meets Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke). HBO shared the news on Sunday, just before the season premiere of True Detective. It's not footage from within the final season but more like an original promotional ad.
