The tech firm LG has shown off an astonishing "rollable" television at the annual Consumer Electronic Shows in Las Vegas.

The sizable price tag could pose challenges for the early sales of the world's first rollable television, which dazzled onlookers at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019, the President of LG Electronics Inc. has said. This time, we're looking at a full-featured, 65-inch TV that's actually coming to market this year. "We will expand the sales ratio of large OLED TVs".

According to LG, the Signature Series R9 will be available in the second-half of 2019 and exclusively in a 65-inch version, though that could change by next year.

LG Display hasn't released any images of it 88-inch Crystal Sound OLED display at this time, but has shared some details. For those who want to create a cozy atmosphere, it has a "Mood" mode that plays a video of a fireplace or displays mood-specific light on the screen. It's just as attractive as LG's screens from past year, even if there hasn't been a massive change in technology - the panel itself hasn't undergone a massive revision, unfortunately.

In order to handle the 8K content, LG's new TVs are powered by its second generation Alpha 9 intelligent processor and deep learning algorithm.

OLED TV with 4K resolution supports Apple AirPlay 2, integration with HomeKit and voice control with a virtual assistant Alexa.

The other flagship from LG is the 8K 75-inch SM99 LCD TV which will bring 8K viewing to customers on a backlit screen rather than an OLED screen where each individual pixel generates its own light.

Samsung made a slash on Sunday when it announced it was adding an iTunes app to its smart TVs. "We are really excited to be one of Apple's first TV partners for AirPlay Video", said LG senior director of home entertainment product marketing Tim Alessi.

LG is further enhancing the experience with immersive audio, which is included in 2019 LG OLED TVs.
