Lawrence and the Tigers had one of the best games of all-time (not hyperbole), blowing out No. 1 Alabama in the College Football Playoff national championship game. Lawrence threw TD passes to Travis Etienne, Tee Higgins and Justyn Ross to help undefeated Clemson become the first team in the AP poll era starting in 1936 to win 15 games in a season.

The Clemson Tigers shocked the world last night when they unseated Alabama as champions in a blowout National Championship game at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, CA.

Clemson got the scoring started with a pick-six and pretty much rolled from there. Clemson also finished No. 1 in 2016 and 1981. But tonight, there's no doubt.

Alabama was the 5.5-point favorite over Clemson coming into the national title game.

"I just told him [Saban], 'See you next year, ' because I don't think they're going to go anywhere", Swinney said. The two teams continued trading haymakers throughout the first half, but Clemson went into the locker room with a 31-16 lead.

Tua Tagovailoa passed for 295 yards and two TD's but was intercepted twice, including a pick-six. "We didn't finish the way we wanted to finish". "So the only thing we hadn't done again was win it all".
