Chelsea FC are in fourth place in the Premier League table ahead of their home clash against Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

After negotiating with Chelsea for much of the past week or two, the Bavarians have finally met the club's asking price for 18-year-old winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The Chelsea winger has made only one league appearance this season, but Sarri believes that he is ready to compete with Willian and Pedro, the established first-teamers.

"I don't think so, because he is an English player".

Husdon-Odoi was given a rare run out by Maurizio Sarri last weekend in the FA Cup, where he impressed by providing two assists for Alvaro Morata in a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

He's regarded as Chelsea's brightest young talent - and with that title, it's unsurprising that another team is trying to land him this month - even if it is Bayern Munich. "To stay here is better for him".

The Bavarians' commitment to signing the 18-year-old has played a big part in the move.

"I know Chelsea fans would love to see him stay, they want to see an academy lad come through the ranks".

"He is very young, but now he is improving, especially in the defensive phase".

Not only have his performances of late not been good enough to justify his continual selection, but he's also prohibiting Callum Hudson-Odoi from being given the regular game-time that he deserves. "Of course we have very important players in the same position, so you want Willian on the bench I think?" I can start to consider him on the same level.

'If I have something to announce, I'll do so, ' Salihamidzic said on Wednesday at the club's winter training camp in Qatar, after confirming the signing of Benjamin Pavard for next season.
