But Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) is still ruling the Seven Kingdoms and is hellbent on keeping her power despite threats from snow-dwelling, baby-stealing monsters and another pair of incestuous star-crossed lovers.

HBO hasn't made us literally watch a block of ice melt this year for a Game of Thrones Season 8 reveal, but it's already feeling like we'll be in that troll territory in no time. It doesn't contain any new footage, so those looking to avoid spoilers don't have anything to worry about.

There's clearly a lot to look forward to for the eighth season that arrives April 2019. It's a nice nod to the show's source material, George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series.

The hit HBO series debuted the teaser during the 2018 Comic Con Experience in Brazil on Thursday (December 6). Fire engulfs a lion figure (a nod to House Lannister), and at the end of the clip, the two elements clash in the middle, likely representing a pretty epic battle in the series' final season. But the story of Game of Thrones has always been about fire and ice, be it White Walkers and Targaryens, or aunts and nephews who may unite the kingdom by being in accidentally incestuous relationships. If the result is dragonglass, it's worth noting that's one of the few ways White Walkers can be killed. The network has not released an official premiere date yet for season eight.
