New York Magazine's The Cut is in hot water this morning for publishing an article questioning the legitimacy of newlyweds Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra's relationship.

Priyanka Chopra has responded to the contentious The Cut article that accused her of tricking husband Nick Jonas into marriage.

Priyanka's brother-in-law Joe Jonas also condemned the article and said, "This is disgusting".

Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra who tied the knot with Nick Jonas over the weekend has responded to an article which alleged she "scammed" USA pop singer into marrying her. In other words, when privileged white men make money and enjoy it, it is normal.

After tumults of backlash, the magazine updated the article and later deleted it.

Nick and Priyanka Wednesday over the weekend bringing together 225 of their friends and family for a five days of events in Jodhpur and New Delhi in India.

The Cut pulled down the article after receiving flak for it and the editor issued a note apologising for the debacle.

It echoed what Joe's fiancee Sophie Turner had to say about the article which has since been taken down by the website.

Priyanka Chopra is a global icon for a reason.

It likened Chopra's relationship with Jonas, a former boyband star turned solo musician and actor, to a business decision and a splurge on luxury items. What Nick and Pri have is attractive love.

For a publication that "shows women's what they are made of" @TheCut has a lot to answer for. It reeks of envy and bitterness. 'Very disappointed that The Cut would give anyone a platform to spew such bulls-t'. It's not even in my stratosphere. "These kind of random things can't disturb it", she added. There is no good explanation for this other than human error and poor judgement.

Jonas was also decked out a Chopard piece during his wedding weekend, opting for a watch from the storied jeweler's collection.
