He posted a video as his very first post on the social media site.

In the 37-year-old actor's first Instagram post, he jokingly confirmed what we all pretty much knew already. The title of this issue in particular is 'The Return of the Man Called Mysterio!' and Jake suddenly realises his role in the next Sony/Marvel collaboration.

He captioned the video: "I just realised I'm not playing Spider-Man".

Multiple reports have revealed that the first Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer is set to debut at Brazil Comic Con on Saturday, December 8, with online release following shortly after. However, the actor and the studio behind the upcoming superhero film have been mum on the topic.

It's good fun, and a sign that we can expect the marketing for Spider-Man: Far From Home to start ramping up.

Tom Holland, who has been playing the Spider-Man in the new series, couldn't help but join in.

In the comic, Mysterio tries to convince Spidey he caused a man's death, The Hollywood Reporter reports, noting that it's unclear if this plot will carry over into the film.

Jon Watts is returning to direct the sequel to Homecoming, which earned $880 million (£656,216,000) worldwide. But marketing these films without spoiling the most important one of the three will be hard, a new report notes, and Sony is already hiding potential Avengers 4 spoilers from Spider-Man 2 marketing.

Spider-Man creators, Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, introduced Mysterio in the comics in 1964.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is due to hit cinemas in July 2019.
