90s rock band Hootie and the Blowfish is getting back together and embarking on their first full tour in more than a decade. Barenaked Ladies fans who have purchased VIP packages in the past will receive an exclusive code to purchase tickets early on Wednesday, December 5.

Hootie & the Blowfish, which also includes Mark Bryan, Dean Felber and Jim "Soni" Sonefeld, met at the University of SC in the late '80s, and began playing in local bars.

Hootie & the Blowfish will go on tour for the first time since 2008, including a stop in The Woodlands at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on June 14, 2019.

Tickets for both performances will be sold through www.etix.com, by calling 800-514-3849 or at the State Fairgrounds Ticket Office during limited hours 10 a.m.to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7.

Hootie and The Blowfish played at Jason Aldean's High Noon Neon Tour this past July in Atlanta. "We've never stopped being a band".

"We were content playing clubs and small theaters, so playing to three-, four- and five-times that size was incredible, and we're looking forward to that feeling again on this tour", Sonefeld echoes. They will hit the road with Barenaked Ladies on what is being called the Group Therapy Tour. Bryan adds, "There's nothing like playing music live". Fans are permitted on the Hersheypark Entertainment Complex property beginning at 7 a.m. on Friday, December 7.

Next year will also mark the 25th anniversary of the group's popular album "Cracked Rear View" - which featured the hit songs "Hold My Hand", "Let Her Cry" and "Only Wanna Be With You".
