Amazon is making the jump into blockchain at last

"It will be really scalable, you'll have a much more flexible and robust set of APIs for you to make any kind of changes or adjustments to the ledger database", said Andy Jassy, AWS CEO.

"I think we are entering this golden age of what is going to be possible in applications, and in five years from now or 10 years from now, I think virtually every application will have machine learning and AI in it".

And they want all of this without sacrificing the speed and agility of AWS.

Customers can train and tweak machine learning models in an online simulator and then test drive them on vehicles one-eighteenth the size of a real race auto.

"We are not overspending on ML". Using historical data and related causal data, Amazon Forecast will automatically train, tune, and deploy custom, private machine learning forecasting models, so that customers can be more confident that they'll provide the right customer experience while optimising their spend.

"That is why you see us spending so much time, energy and investment in the ML and AL space", Jassy told the gathering at the company's annual flagship "ReInvent 2018" conference here.

"The culture inside AWS is that we don't just build things. when we understand what problem you want to solve and we then solve it for you".

"You can expect that we are not close to being done".

Users can program their DeepRacers themselves with their own reinforcement learning algorithms, training the auto using Amazon SageMaker, Amazon's artificial intelligence service.

The small race vehicle has an HD camera, a dual-core Intel processor and other hardware that will allow it to pilot itself using reinforcement learning. VMW) previewed two new offerings-VMware Cloud on AWS Outposts and VMware Cloud Foundation for Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) that will run on AWS Outposts, enabling customers to build and deploy in customer data centers in an "as a service" model with rich, enterprise-class capabilities.

Simulations similar to the races Amazon is proposing are common in academic circles studying how traffic management would work in an era of self-driving cars.

"Reinforcement learning is enabling innovation in machine learning and robotics", said Brad Porter, VP and distinguished engineer of Amazon Robotics. Further, the changes done are cryptographically chained and verifiable.

In addition to the auto itself, AWS is launching the DeepRacer League, an autonomous racing league that will hold matches at Amazon cloud events all next year. This can be compared to the Gsuite offerings from Google which manage company email and data on the search giant's cloud servers, fully centralized.

Jassy knows what Machine Learning can do when it comes to big and small enterprises and, most importantly, to the differently-abled via enhanced computer vision, brain signal processing, speech recognition systems, voice-based features and other related tools. Working directly with VMware to offer customers convenience in managing their workloads across on-premises and public cloud could initially be explained as a step in the migration process.
