Trump also criticized CNN contributor April Ryan. He insulted Acosta, saying "I don't think he's a smart person but he's got a loud voice". What a stupid question.

"I understand", Alexander said, attempting to ask a question.

Al Tompkins and Kelly McBride, both faculty at the Poynter Institute in Florida, said Acosta's actions - which included challenging the president's answers to his questions - didn't "represent the best of journalism". Trump responded: "Well, I'm not a big fan of yours, either".

The mainstream media for days has been claiming, "without evidence,"* that a clip of CNN's Jim Acosta tangling with a 98-pound White House intern was somehow "doctored". Among those he brought up in that context was Ryan.

Earlier in the week, Trump asked CNN contributor April Ryan to "sit down" when she was at the briefing. She knows it. These are dark times and not only because of the pack of lying liars in charge.

This all comes after the suspension of Jim Acosta from his reporting duties at the White House.

She said his press pass was being suspended "until further notice". "You have to treat the White House with respect, you have to treat the presidency with respect".

These comments come after a very contentious week between the White House and Jim Acosta. Why might other journalists in the room react that way, and why did Fox News's Chris Wallace say that Acosta had "embarrassed himself" on Wednesday?

Manigault Newman rose to fame on Trump's reality television show and joined him at the White House in the Office of Public Liaison. You are a rude, awful person. Her question was about the widespread concerns that Trump's rhetoric emboldens white nationalists. "You run CNN, and if you did it well, your ratings would be higher", Trump said. She pointed out that she's done her job for more than two decades.

Trump has disparaged many people, so his responses to Phillip, Ryan and Alcindor might simply reflect equal-opportunity contempt. They insist on taking everything the man says hyper-literally and then critically analyze every goofy, bombastic, hyperbolic, or sarcastic Trump utterance or tweet.

"He's not able to finesse his disdain for certain people", Ryan said in an interview Friday.

Even as Acosta is muttering these words, Trump begins to mock him: "Oh here we go. He attacks the people he feels are beneath him".

NABJ President Sarah Glover called them among the "finest reporters covering the White House".

"It wasn't doctored... they gave a close-up view", Trump told reporters on November 9. "We do the work".

The CNN reporter Acosta said: "But your campaign had an ad showing migrants climbing over walls".

The attacks on the three women left Sarah Glover, the president of the National Association of Black Journalists, shaking her head. The news outlet was under fire for a series of reports on the alleged Trump-Russia ties. Trump has called the move an "invasion", although the group is nowhere near the United States border.
