Naturally, all the fans he touched with his creations and the stars who brought such comic book characters to life showered the internet with posts in homage to Lee.

Born Stanley Martin Lieber in 1922, he is best known as the co-creator of most of the major characters at the genesis of the Marvel Universe, including The Incredible Hulk, The Mighty Thor, The Invincible Iron Man, The Astonishing Ant-Man and The Uncanny X-Men alongside Jack Kirby.

As the top writer at Marvel Comics and later as its publisher, Lee was widely considered the architect of the contemporary comic book.

Lee had graced many movies, comic books, video-games and sit-coms with his cameos, which were quite legendary.
