He found his answer in an old-style flip phone. Horn also earned himself a $30,000 fine from the National Football League at the time. Thomas has a very real chance to finish the season with the best numbers of his career and most importantly, the Saints just continue to win games.

Horn, a Saints Hall of Famer who caught 50 touchdown passes for the franchise from 2000-06, will forever be remembered for his controversial 2003 touchdown celebration, which resulted in a $30,000 fine in an era when receivers such as Terrell Owens, Chad Johnson and Horn were regularly coming up with elaborate celebrations.

O yeah, Thomas ended the game with 211 yards receiving on 12 receptions and one touchdown.

When I saw him bring out that cellphone, I teared up. Thomas held off his teammate and went to the field goal post pad. He said he purchased the phones from a liquor store. Just last month when the team last played in New Orleans against the Redskins, Thomas came out of the tunnel wearing a ski mask.

As many fans were quick to point out, the move was a homage to former Saints star Joe Horn, who's famous for pulling a similar stunt in a 2004 game against the Giants.

"You've got to have fun", Thomas said.

It took a while for the Fox booth to acknowledge the connection between Thomas' celebration and Horn celebration, but they recognized it at the end of the game. "All these guys are having fun and catching touchdowns and celebrating with each other and getting the crowd involved. I felt like I had an opportunity to make it happen, put the game away and make a call".
