Robert De Niro and his wife, Grace Hightower, split after 2 decades

Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro and his wife of more than 20 years, Grace Hightower, have reportedly separated.

The Taxi Driver star and Grace Hightower are no longer living together, according to Page Six sources, and they will announce the break-up in the coming weeks.

De Niro and Hightower met in 1997 in London and shortly afterward got married, almost ten years after De Niro divorced his first wife, actress Diahnne Abbott, who De Niro has two kids with.

The couple Wednesday in 1997 and have two children - 20-year-old son Elliott and 6-year-old daughter Helen Grace.

De Niro was previously married to actress Diahnne Abbott, from 1976 to 1988 and they share a son, Raphael.

Five years later, the De Niros renewed their wedding vows at a ceremony in the Catskills, New York in front of celebrity friends like Martin Scorsese, Meryl Streep and Ben Stiller.

Several social sources have noticed in recent times that De Niro has been appearing in public at events that he would otherwise have been at with 63 year old Hightower.

Robert is notoriously private about his relationship with Grace but the pair are outspoken about their belief that their son's autism is linked to vaccinations.

"Nobody seems to want to address that, or they say they've addressed it and it's a closed issue but it doesn't seem to be".

Explaining how Grace believes the teenager "changed overnight" after being vaccinated as a child, Robert said: "The vaccines are unsafe to certain people who are more susceptible".

De Niro also has two children with his former girlfriend Toukie Smith.

De Niro has kept quiet about his personal life to the press, but opened up in the past about raising his children.
