Ariana has had one hell of a year.

The #1 debut for "thank u, next" - the title track from an upcoming LP - also makes Grande the first artist in history to debut the lead single from her first five albums in the top 10.

Ariana Grande has been on a winning streak since the release of her Sweetener album.

Grande took to Twitter to respond, writing "for somebody who claims to hate relevancy u sure love clinging to it huh".

The list of former partners includes rapper Big Sean, dancer Ricky Alvarez, ex-fiancee Pete Davidson and the late Mac Miller. She has to have at least a few No. 1s already, right?

Although Hamill wrote "you" and not "u", like the lyric is technically spelled, Grande was quick to pick up on what she thought was a salute to her song from Luke Skywalker himself.

Thank U, Next was also downloaded 81,000 times - a high total in a dying format and more than twice as many purchases as any other song last week. Well, that would certainly be a bold new look for Ariana Grande, pop singer sensation, and it would definitely stand out in a crowd. It shows how her life and career is defined by herself, not by the guys she is romantically involved with. Naturally, Ari stans far and wide are delighted "Thank U, Next" debuted at No. 1, and her mother, Joan Grande, is right there with us.
