Luis Suarez has stepped up in front of goal, scoring five goals in his last three appearances.

Barca's captain and all-time top scorer was initially ruled out for approximately three weeks after sustaining the injury against Sevilla on October 20, although he returned to training last week.

Barcelona are now top of Group B after winning all of their games in the Champions League, while opponents Inter sit in second - their only defeat coming against the Spanish side.

Since losing Messi, Barca have won four matches in succession across all competitions, including a 5-1 Clasico demolition of Real Madrid.

However, hours later the club announced the travelling squad for the match on Twitter, with his name included - claiming the medical team has given an "all clear" verdict.

He added: "The other day [vs Rayo] we started the game very well, but then it was hard for us to play as we did in the previous matches". When we talk about Barcelona, we are talking about the highest calibre of opponent in this game. More than anything because he is one more [player] and so we have more to choose from.

"I'm going to do everything I can to get selected, as I've always done ever since I made my debut with the national team", Alba said.

"Maybe more aggresive because they're at home". His is the shirt that children who dream of being footballers ask for", said Spalletti, "but Barcelona have shown that even without him, they still have the mentality to develop their game, which is what makes the difference.

Inter need a win to all but book their passage to the last 16 in a group which also includes Tottenham and PSV Eindhoven.
