So if you did a mash-up of Detective Pikachu and Deadpool, you would get Syfy's Happy.

Pokémon: Detective Pikachu hits theatres on May 10, 2019.

When Detective Pikachu was announced as a live-action movie starring Ryan Reynolds, I was pretty anxious.

The story revolves around a young man by the name of Tim Goodman (played by Justice Smith), who is searching for his missing father before he stumbles upon Pikachu who Tim believes can talk.

Pikachu is one of the most iconic video game characters of all time, having appeared in countless video games, anime episodes, and even a commercial with the Japanese prime minister. Several other Pokemon make cameos as well, including Charizard and Mr. Mime. He's joined by a snarky and salty Pikachu (Ryan Reynolds) - yes, Ryan Reynolds - who breaks into his apartment.

Warner Brothers Pictures released the first trailer for the highly anticipated film overnight and as expected, people are already going insane over it.

"I think we all knew I'd wind up as a miniature detective repeatedly saying the same two words". It's just amusing to see another trailer drop so soon; you have to wonder if it's because Disney wasn't happy with Monday's stolen thunder.

Now a new Pokemon game for Nintendo Switch is coming and many fans might be wondering whether it's worth getting or not.
