Daniel Cormier Says Brock Lesnar Confrontation Felt Like 'WrestleMania Moment'

UFC 230 Embedded is an all-access, behind-the-scenes video blog leading up to the heavyweight title fight taking place Saturday, November 3 on Pay-Per-View.

"I win the fight, I go, 'Brock, you obviously wanted it. Get your a** in here if you wanted it.' Now, I didn't know he was going to push me".

Lesnar, who held the UFC heavyweight title in 2008, has not competed inside the octagon for two years.

Lewis' recent record is about as good as it gets in the UFC, particularly at heavyweight where the majority of the fighters in the division are capable of one fight-ending strike at any moment. Early in the discussion he also goes into detail about how storytelling in professional wrestling inspires so much in mixed martial arts and potentially fighting Brock Lesnar in the future.

"He feels like it would be ideal to fight a guy like me that don't have as much skills on short notice before the Jones fight and he thinks it's going to be an easy fight for him".

That fight would carry a purse in the eight-figure range for Cormier, but it would go away with a loss. If I knew he was going to push me I would have dug my heels.

"He's a wife beater, I'd like to get in there with him", Lewis said.

"I need to sit my black ass down and do some more cardio", he explained.

"I see Brock, right, and here's the insane thing about this. I don't want to seem like he can just toss me around". "I'm an optimistic guy".

Despite his previous comments Lewis agreed to step in and face double-champ Cormier, signalling that the opportunity to become champion outranks the risk of losing. With few options available, the promotion announced that the relatively unknown Eubanks would be fighting Valentina Shevchenko for the vacant women's 125 pounds title.

The heavyweight challenger fights for UFC gold against Daniel Cormier this weekend in NY, and he's talking up his clash in epic style. I didn't like the visual of him pushing me and me flying back like that. "My mom wouldn't have been happy with all the F-bombs I dropped on Dana, but he laughed about it and said he'd try to do right by me".
