Camila Cabello leads MTV Europe award nods

The night's top victor, Camila Cabello, picked up awards for best artist and best song, while Janet Jackson received the lifetime achievement award.

She told the Press Association: "I think that it's always been hard".

As always, all eyes were on the red carpet at the MTV EMAs last night - and the stars pulled out all the stops in the style department.

She is fresh from winning prestigious prizes at the MTV Video Music Awards in August - artist of the year and video of the year - after her album "Camila" reached the top of United States charts in January.

In addition to her acceptance speech, Jackson also performed a collection of some of her greatest hits, including "Rhythm Nation" and "All for You", along with her 2018 song, "Made for Now".

The singer won the Global Icon award, presented by Camila Cabello and Jason Derulo, at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Bilbao.

"This year has been the best of my life", the 21-year-old Cuban native said at the event in Bilbao, northern Spain.

"Women, our voices will be heard, we will be heard". Nicki Minaj won two awards.

One of the hits of the night was Spanish Flamenco-inspired artist Rosalia singing "Malamente" after rolling on stage in a huge truck. The duo is widely considered to have helped revolutionize hip hop in Malaysia, earning several awards and even opening for Kanye West along the way.

In other categories, Dua Lipa has been nominated as best pop artist, the american group Panic! at the Disco best artist alternative and Marshmello best artist electro.
