Billboard on Tuesday named the 25-year-old award-winning singer its 2018 Woman of the Year.

Grande chose to channel the classic musical number from "The First Wives Club", wearing bridal white alongside her two backup singers to resemble the film's stars Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn and Dianne Keaton.

Midway through the song, she climbed on top of a chair and stumbled as she stepped down from it, but she literally laughed it off, breaking up the verse with an "Oh my god" and laughing during a couple of the following lines.

Despite giggling over a misstep that almost caused her to fall, Grande got choked up at one point during her performance, visibly holding back tears while singing about walking down the aisle with her mom someday. "Holding hands with my mama", she sang, through tears. It's one thing to sing the words, "I'm so fucking grateful for my ex", and it's another to really look like you mean them. This September, her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, died of an accidental overdose caused by mixing drugs and alcohol.

Host DeGeneres joked about Grande leaving, prompting her to return in a amusing confused moment.

But, just as the song says, Grande knows how to handle the pain. The trio eventually made their way through the audience before exiting from the back. Throughout the rest of the performance, she keeps fighting back giggles. "I thought we were supposed to exit".

We loved how she and her girls simply marched up the stairs and off the set at the end of the number giving great attitude and girl power, but DeGeneres was on the stage waiting to chat with her. "We support you", host Ellen DeGeneres said after the song.
