The Dane, champion in Beijing in 2010, eased into this year's decider against Anastasija Sevastova with an impressive 6-1 6-3 success to end her opponent's hopes of a third title in 2018.

From that point on, the first set was not much of a contest, with Wozniacki's solid backhand and easy maneuvering at the baseline making quick work of the set in just over half an hour.

Sevastova is set to play the final against the victor of the match between Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark, the second seed and victor of the Australian Open this year, and wildcard Wang Qiang of China.

This is the Georgian's second ATP World Tour 500 Series win this year, after his victory in the German Open in July.

Sunday's win was her second at the event in 10 years and it now takes her to 30 career titles on the WTA circuit. Wozniacki is the reigning Australian Open champion.

"Playing against Donna, I had some problems with my stomach muscle and never expected to go further". Wozniacki is 1000 points away from the World Number one ranking and to dethrone Simona Halep. Sevastova put up some brilliant shot and failed to convert her first two break point chances as Wozniacki completed a big hold to 1-1.

"As you can see, my game today wasn't as good as it was in the last matches in the tournament". "She didn't give me any presents, it was tough", said Sevastova.

"By the third match, I thought I played really great tennis". Having done everything, all of that, it's pretty wonderful.

Wozniacki will now head to Singapore to defend her title at the upcoming WTA Finals, featuring the top eight qualifying players of the season.
