OnePlus has had a torrid 24-hours after Apple made a decision to announce a major event on the same day as the OnePlus 6T was supposed to be revealed. As OnePlus events are filled with attendees from all over the world - both by the media and OnePlus fans - the movement of the date this late in the game will likely cause major travel and lodging issues for many.

Apple's October keynote takes place on October 30 at 10am local time - 3pm GMT.

Among one of the most eagerly awaited smartphones of the year, OnePlus 6T is expected to sport an inbuilt fingerprint sensor along with a waterdrop notch-screen.

Apple revealed news of its event late last night with the United States technology firm sending out invites to media with the words, "There's more in the making".

"After deep reflection, we have chose to move the OnePlus 6T Launch Event in New York City to October 29", said the OnePlus Team on its official forum.

"When we announced the launch of the OnePlus 6T on October 8, we were convinced our timing would allow us to maximize the amount of people we could reach with our message". Journalists would have to divide their attention, and chances are OnePlus would get the short stick.

In a post to the OnePlus forums today, the company says that it has picked a new date for its 6T reveal: October 29, one day before it originally planned to reveal the phone. "Everyone who owns a ticket will be able to apply for a full refund for their ticket".

The New York launch event is now more important than ever for the company as it will partnering for the first time with the United States carriers.

If anything, this is cool for the rest of us because we'll see the phone one day earlier.

If you're still able to join our event, first of all: Thank you! If you need to pay to move your flight, we've got your back.

If that's not a true commitment to its biggest fans, we're not sure what is. Our team will be getting in touch with all ticket owners individually to help you out. As we continue to grow, we will continue to challenge this industry together.

The sale was kickstarted by the company on October 17 and was announced officially through a series of tweets where it said, "The Invite you wouldn't want to miss".
