Trump heads to Texas to give boost to 'Lyin' Ted'

"He's handsome Ted", Trump told reporters on the White House's South Lawn.

President Trump journeys to Houston on Monday for a yet another "Make America Great Again" rally in a local arena that can accommodate 18,000 Texas fans.

"Beautiful Ted" and "Texas Ted" are a far cry from the "Lyin' Ted" moniker Trump slapped on Cruz during the 2016 GOP presidential primary.

Because of course who could forget the 2016 election's connection to the John F. Kennedy assassination by way of the National Enquirer?

O'Rourke is running for the U.S. Senate in an uphill battle to unseat Republican incumbent Senator Ted Cruz.

Trump headed to Cruz's home city to boost momentum for his onetime foe on the first day of early voting in Texas. "Ted and I get along very well".

"That election's over", Cruz told "This Week" when asked about the insults he and Trump lobbed at each other during the 2016 campaign. Cruz's race against Democratic Rep. Beto O'Rourke is closer than Republicans would like it to be, and Mr. Trump can't afford to lose any seats in the U.S. Senate that already lacks the number of Republicans he would like. "No, Ted Cruz and I had a very very nasty and tough campaign".

"I don't know that Texans care too much one way or another what someone from outside of Texas thinks", O'Rourke said.

"I like him a lot".

"Um, I mean he's been working really hard with everything he's been doing around Texas", said another female student. I actually like him a lot and he's a very smart guy.

The President also said he believes O'Rourke is "highly overrated".
