But despite the drama of it all, Abdul got right back up and finished the performance.

While performing in Biloxi, Mississippi, at the Hard Rock Live, Abdul fell head first off-stage.

Video captured by a concertgoer shows Abdul entertaining the crowd, urging them to "come on" when she suddenly goes headfirst into the gap between the stage and audience.

The chart-topper was performing on Straight Up Paula! tour in MS - her first solo trek in 25 years - when disaster struck. Windsor will be the fourth.

Footage of the incident shows Abdul going one step too far on the venue's stage while singing her Spellbound-era single The Promise of a New Day. "I ended up having to take nearly seven years off to have all these different neurosurgeons operating on me", recalled Paula, who came back in 2002 as a judge in "American Idol".

Abdul's success coordinating dance routines extended beyond working just with musicians as she was pegged to arrange dance sequences for a number of films including Can't Buy Me Love, The Running Man, Big, Coming to America, Action Jackson, The Doors, Jerry Maguire, and American Beauty. In 2009, the singer revealed she had been hooked on prescription painkillers for over 12 years due to chronic pain from her years as a dancer.

Paula Abdul has been in the entertainment industry for over three decades and now looking back at her career, the star has some advice she'd give to her up-and-coming self. "Other than the fall her show was absolutely wonderful and she went on and finished like a champ!"
