Now, with Samsung bringing on quad cameras, it's all-out war in the arena of smartphone optics.

Speaking at the event, DJ Koh, president and chief executive of the IT and mobile communications division at Samsung Electronics, said that with the Galaxy A7 and A9, the company was "showcasing Samsung's commitment to serve everyone". The third camera is the main 24MP sensor with a wide f/1.7 aperture, while the fourth camera is a 5MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture.

Samsung Galaxy A9 features a 6.3-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080x2220 pixels.

But, the most eye-catching thing about this smartphone has to be its ridiculously long camera module which houses all four sensors, each with its own goal. It offers 2x optical zoom. Keeping this smartphone powered is a large 3,800 mAh battery with support for fast-charging via USB Type-C.

The phone will come with plenty of storage, at 128GB (6GB RAM) and up to 512GB of expandable memory. We also get Android 8.1 Oreo, which is inexcusable given Android 9 Pie's availability. Also, let us know your thoughts down in the comments on what you think about Samsung's latest killer mid-ranger. A fingerprint scanner is present on the backside of the phone. While the front side houses a single 24MP selfie camera, the backside is where all the magic takes place.

Samsung has only unwrapped the Galaxy A9 (2018) smartphone, but it hasn't disclosed its pricing.

The Galaxy A9 will be available in three color options - Caviar Black, Lemonade Blue, and Bubblegum Pink - with sales set to kick off in select global markets from November.

Yep, the brand new Samsung Galaxy A9 is a mid-range phone that provides "more ways to express yourself than ever before", according to the South Korean company.
