The baby is expected in spring 2019.

Prince Harry was caught on camera having a cheeky moment with a royal fan about a bouquet of flowers they brought for Meghan Markle.

Meghan called the koalas "so, so, sweet".

The couple were also introduced to Lynx, a short-legged echidna, a cute but spiky mammal from the region. With Meghan's darker features mixed with Harry's lighter ones, Joe predicts that a baby girl would have dark hair and brown eyes, while a boy would have lighter brown hair and blue eyes.

Meghan tentatively touched Lynx' spines after being invited to pet the echidna.

Meghan and Harry are now in Australia on an official 16-day tour and will be travelling to Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand.

UK Prime Minister Theresa May congratulated the royal couple in a Twitter post on Monday morning.

In a jam-packed schedule of 76 engagements across 16 days, the royal duo will visit Sydney, Dubbo, Melbourne and Queensland's Fraser Island as well as Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand.

During this meeting Meghan wore a white dress that accentuated her bump.

After Kensington Palace last night confirmed the Duchess of Sussex was pregnant, Royal fever stepped up a notch.

War widow Daphne Dunne, 98, was front and centre of the crowd eagerly waiting for Harry and Meghan Markle outside the Opera House - and her patience paid off, with Harry greeting her like an old friend.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were said to be "very pleased" to be expecting their first child in spring 2019.

The 74-year-old former Hollywood lighting director is nevertheless believed to have been told about Meghan's pregnancy some time before it was made public, and expressed his joy at the news.

The visit coincides with the Invictus Games in Sydney, which kick off on Saturday and run for a week.

The news, announced on the day the royal couple arrived in Sydney, took many by surprise, including the governor-general, Sir Peter Cosgrove, and Lady Cosgrove.

The baby will be seventh in line to the British throne after Prince Charles, Prince William and his three children and Prince Harry.

On Friday, Meghan was spotted wearing a loose-fitting, long coat at Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's wedding, which only ramped up rumours that a new royal baby was on the way.

She and Prince William meant to wait until the 12-week mark, but the announcement came much earlier than planned.

They only just shared that they were expecting their first child hours ago but this hasn't stopped speculation and now people think they have figured out her due date.
