Conor McGregor vowed to return as king of the octagon but this was a catastrophe for the Irishman rather than a coronation. However, that would deprive him of an October 27 fight between Nurmagomedov's teammate Zubaira Tukhugov and Artem Lobov, one of McGregor's best friends.

Over the weekend, Conor McGregor's coach John Kavanagh confirmed that he would be appearing on Joe Rogan's podcast on Monday, with UFC 229 surely set to be the main topic of discussion.

Nurmagomedov defeated McGregor via submission in the fourth round of UFC 229 before the Russian fighter climbed out of the ring and attacked a member of McGregor's team on live television.

By adding the words "the war goes on", McGregor, who had a black eye in the photograph that accompanied the post, is heavily implying that this rivalry is not over. I don't want people talking shit about opponents, talking shit about fathers or religion. His target was McGregor's team-mate Dillon Danis and security piled in just as one of Khabib's entourage jumped the cage to punch McGregor in the back of the head.

Conor McGregor may have been the loudest in the weeks and days leading up to his match-up against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, but he had absolutely nothing to show when it came time to fight. Three associates of Nurmagomedov were handcuffed by police inside T-Mobile Arena, White said, but when McGregor declined to file charges, they were released.

While Khabib vs McGregor II would definitely do numbers, there are other fighters who are looking for a title shot as well. "I've been doing this for 18 years and this is the biggest night ever and I couldn't be more disappointed". Daniel Cormier has offered some i.

"[Nurmagomedov] has to go before the Nevada commission, and we have to see what's going to happen with Khabib and this whole mess", said White. Wiz says it's on the UFC to get a handle on this. It would be the UFC's biggest pay-per-view to date, a tremendous feat.
