Flu vaccine effectiveness varies from season to season, but the CDC says it's still important to be protected.

Look out for a letter from your GP telling you about the dates and times of their flu clinics or additionally enquire at your local pharmacy who are once again offering the flu jab too.

The nursing students giving the flu vaccinations were supervised by licensed clinical instructors. After all, people who choose to opt out of the flu shot commonly blame the fact that the vaccination isn't always effective - which is true, but it's still better than not getting vaccinated at all.

Recent studies show that flu vaccination reduces the risk of the flu by between 40 and 60 percent among the overall population during seasons when most circulating flu viruses are well-matched to the flu vaccine, according to the CDC.

There are some people that are advised not to have the vaccine.
