One day after resigning from her position as finance minister, it is being reported that Kemi Adeosun has left the country.

PDP also insisted on holding the president responsible for "all infractions in the finance ministry under Adeosun, as he appointed and retained her despite having information on the certificate forgery; a situation that confirms the decadence and lack of due diligence in the Buhari Presidency".

Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed was born in Kaduna State 55 years ago.

"Furthermore, we are also aware that President Buhari was not by any measure prepared to drop her from his cabinet but for the demand by those responsible for her appointment, who protested her continued stay in office, although for their own selfish gains".

The Daily Trust reports that Adeosun resigned on Friday, but not sure when the minister submitted her resignation letter.

Also, she contributed to the floating of several multibillion-dollar Eurobond offerings and led Nigeria's discussions with multilateral institutions.

She said, "having never worked in NYSC, visited the premises, been privy to nor familiar with their operations, I had no reason to suspect that the certificate was anything but genuine".

President Muhammadu Buhari accepted her resignation on Friday night, 69 days after PREMIUM TIMES first published a detailed investigation of how she obtained the fake document and went on to secure plush employments with it, including as head of Nigeria's finance ministry. Indeed, I presented that certificate at the 2011 Ogun State House of Assembly and in 2015 for Directorate of State Services (DSS) Clearance as well as to the National Assembly for screening.
