Bailey kicked for Dallas from 2011-17 before he was released September 1 in a surprise move.

Bailey is reportedly signing with the Minnesota Vikings, adding the Pro Bowler to a roster already stacked with talent.

They won't get that fifth round pick back, or the win that slipped away, but cutting bait now was a move the Vikings had to make.

The team cut Carlson Monday after missing three field goals at Green Bay on Sunday.

In an effort to improver their production on special teams, the Vikings made the switch to Dan Bailey at kicker. Kirk Cousins had one of the best comebacks in team history and outside of Treadwell's inability to play the game of football, Cousins did fully utilize all of the players at his disposal like some sort of zen chef with a swiss army knife. But on Sunday, in his second regular-season game, he went 0-of-3 on field goals. "That's frustrating. That shorter one I should never miss like that". But that postseason berth didn't last long, thanks to the right leg of placekicker Blair Walsh and the now infamous 27-yard attempt.

So Zimmer and Vikings general manager Rick Spielman swung for the fences in April's draft.

The Vikings may be close to moving on from Treadwell, as it was also reported that the Vikes had signed receiver Aldrick Robinson, a receiver that they in for a workout earlier in September.

It is quite a blunt response, but the fact of the matter is that Carlson missed all three of his opportunities that could have helped the Vikings grab the win over the Packers.

"He really liked him".
