Three babies stabbed in attack in nursery in NY

Police in NY say at least five people, including three infants, have been stabbed at an overnight day care centre in Queens.

It happened around 3:45 a.m. inside a home operating as a day care on 161 Street.

Two baby girls and a baby boy were attacked by the woman, the officer said on condition of anonymity. Her relationship with the children wasn't immediately clear. Victims were rushed to New York-Presbyterian/Queens Hospital.

During the 4 a.m stabbing at the Flushing daycare center, three other adults were also injured.

A baby girl is in a serious condition following an attack in a nursery in Queens on Friday morning, according to police. None of the injuries are considered to be life-threatening, despite one of them being seriously hurt. The police said a female suspect was in custody with self-inflicted wounds to her wrists, making a total of six injured people at the scene.

Police said the suspect was in custody and taken to a local hospital after trying to kill herself.
