"Any time you get someone in the middle of the season, there's obviously a lot of things that have happened that have got the team to a certain point that they weren't a part of", Brady said.

With all of the talent that he has, the Browns have held on to Gordon despite him serving multiple suspensions.

Josh Gordon made his first official appearance at practice for the New England Patriots on Wednesday.

But his new teammates said he has been welcomed with open arms. "Until they are completed, I'm not going to get into it".

As Mark Daniels of the Providence Journal revealed, Gordon posted a photo of Boston Celtics guard Terry Rozier in a Drew Bledsoe jersey shortly after the news.

They've been trying to plug holes at receiver after starting the season without Julian Edelman (suspended for first four games), Danny Amendola (signed with Miami in free agency) and Brandin Cooks (traded to Los Angeles Rams).

"I know he was a monster then, and he's still a monster now", linebacker Dont'a Hightower said.

Quarterback Tom Brady has compensated by spreading around passes to almost everyone in the offense.

Adding a big-play threat such as Gordon could bring some better balance.

Gordon is one of the most talented receivers in the league, and if he can stay on the field for the Pats, he'll give Brady a weapon he sorely needs. "I've never met Josh personally, just like I hadn't met some of the guys that have come in the last couple weeks. We'll see how it goes this week", Brady said.

Defensive end Trey Flowers and safety Patrick Chung were the only Patriots absent for Wednesday's padded practice.

The Patriots passing game definitely hasn't been one of the team's strengths this year.
