Earlier this year, Huawei unveiled the P20 Pro, its latest flagship phone equipped with a triple-lens camera along with the P20 model.

The same source suggests that Samsung might launch the comparatively ordinary triple-lens Galaxy A7 (2018) at the same event, which is said to have either a Snapdragon 710 or Snapdragon 660 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM, again making it mid-range.

Samsung Electronics has announced its first triple camera smartphone. The latest iteration of the Galaxy A7 apparently improves on the 2017 version of the device announced earlier previous year. The mid camera appears to integrate a telephoto lens, but Samsung could have done a better job when it chose the camera setup placement.

The Galaxy A7 (2018) comes in three memory configurations, which are 4GB of RAM with 64GB or 128GB of internal storage as well as 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. It is a 24MP affair, too, complete with Selfie Focus for bokeh-ed portraits, Pro Lighting mode for imitation of studio lamps, and even an "adjustable" LED flash for the times when faux studio luminance doesn't cut it. It's coming in four colors, blue, black, gold, and pink.

The dual SIM based smartphone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system with the company's own Samsung Experience on top and is fueled by a 3300mAh battery with adaptive fast charging. The phone measures 7.5mm in thickness and weighs 168 grams. The phone comes with glass on the back and a side fingerprint sensor much like the Galaxy J6+.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and NFC.

"Samsung is committed to delivering meaningful innovation to all consumers across the Galaxy family, no matter who they are or where they are in the world" swooned DJ Koh, president and CEO of Samsung's mobile biz. "That's why we're excited to introduce innovative new features to the A series with the Galaxy A7, a practical but powerful device that is built to help make your everyday both convenient and extraordinary".
