All is not well in Manchester United on and off the pitch as the relationship between Jose Mourinho and his star midfielder, Paul Pogba, seems to be at an all-time low.

But he told Canale 5: "I am not at all convinced by Paul Pogba".

"Listen. I joke about Manchester City but they are playing great football", he added. "So long as you see that I am not in a Barcelona shirt, that is because I am at Manchester United, there will always be rumours". It led to a different role in the side for Pogba leading to some friction between the two men during the second half of last season. We have a common goal - to win.

The France worldwide has now once again hinted that his relationship with Mourinho was not entirely ideal but played down the significance of this. We talked well during the World Cup, he gave me good advice.

The report claimed that the France worldwide knows he will win any United power struggle with Mourinho because Woodward paid £89million to sign him from Juventus two years ago and would be reluctant to let him leave so soon. "He told me about his experience and I took it into account".

Pep Guardiola is a far better fit to manage Manchester United than the "no fun" Jose Mourinho, according to Old Trafford favourite Eric Cantona, who even suggested he would be a superior option in the dugout. But he is out of contract next summer and is taking his time over a new deal.

This weekend the worldwide break brought the opportunity for a much-needed rest, and Mourinho took full advantage by going to see his stars - David De Gea and co. - in action at Wembley stadium.

Mourinho has been under severe pressure at Old Trafford following an underwhelming start to the new Premier League season that saw him suffer two defeats in four games.
