Numbers Still Favor Kavanaugh's Confirmation to Supreme Court

At the state level, abortion rights are already at risk, with increasing legal restrictions and the rapid closure of clinics in rural parts of the country like Kentucky, where only one clinic remains.

Senator Collins ran for Congress on a platform of being both pro-choice and someone who would prioritise the needs of her constituents over her party. Ex-Planned Parenthood director Mary Calderon estimated in 1960 that 90 percent of illegal abortions were committed by licensed physicians, while former Planned Parenthood and Centers for Disease Control statistician Dr. Christopher Tietze and NARAL co-founder turned pro-life activist Dr. Bernard Nathanson admitted that the abortion lobby dramatically exaggerated the number of pre-Roe maternal deaths for political gain. If she votes yes, however, all of the money - which, on Tuesday, officially stretched into excess of $1 million - will be donated to the campaign of Collins' future 2020 opponent.

"Collins said she will instead vote based on "[Kavanaugh's] qualifications, his character and integrity, judicial temperament, his record, and his respect for the rule of law and fidelity to the Constitution". "The people of ME are asking you to be a hero, Senator Collins". But Collins voted to confirm Neil Gorsuch, Trump's first Supreme Court nominee. "We need [Collins] to hear our message", the fundraiser description reads.

Collins has been considered a potential vote against Kavanaugh on the abortion issue since she supports abortion rights and hinted last week to a Maine newspaper that if Kavanaugh "was not truthful [during his confirmation hearing], then obviously that would be a major problem for me".

Collins has also had some 3,000 coat hangers mailed to her office (a reference to the back alley abortion). "It is time Senators listen to their constituents and loudly and proudly declared their opposition to this nominee".

Every Democrat should be condemning these antics in Maine- attempting to bribe Senator Collins to vote against Judge Kavanaugh and threatening sexual violence against staffers if she votes for him is absolutely disgusting.

After a week of histrionics during Kavanaugh's confirmation hearings, Collins, a crucial swing vote in the Senate, is thought to be among the only people with the power to stop the nominee's near-certain confirmation to the nation's highest court.

That doesn't sound like someone who is impressed by the Democrats' disgusting antics.
