Nintendo Online paid service starts next week, Nintendo Direct tomorrow

Nintendo sent along instructions in its email, which walks users through the process of linking the appropriate Nintendo Account step by step.

During the latest Direct presentation, Nintendo showed an overview trailer for the Switch Online service launching at the end of this month. New games will be added at least three per month: Solomon's Key, NES Open Golf and Super Dodgeball in October, Metroid, Mighty Bomb Jack and Twinbee in November, Wario's Woods, Ninja Gaiden and Adventure of Lolo in December.

Nintendo Switch Online will also give subscribers the ability to back up their save data in the cloud. Other games will have the standard-fare multiplayer enhanced for online multiplayer. Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus both cost $59.99 for a year-long subscription, while Nintendo Switch Online is available for $19.99 per year for an individual or $34.99 for families. Since there will be some games that won't be able to make use of cloud saves, for whatever reason. Some existing titles such as Splatoon 2 have received significant updates, too.

Nintendo fans were brimming with anticipation in the lead-up to Nintendo Direct on September 6, where the company was expected to reveal new games and info about its Switch and 3DS platforms.
