"It's very hard, it's very difficult, but Manchester City will win it".

He thinks Pep Guardiola's Manchester City side will become the first side to win back-to-back Premier League titles since Manchester United in 2011, but he's also omitted Liverpool, who many are tipping as their biggest threat, from his top four entirely. He just waited for it, I don't know what he was trying to do.

Merson said: "You have got to worry for them to finish in the top four". He's a confident lad and even today he made two or three great saves, so we'll concentrate on that and it's only a small blip.

Maurizio Sarri has been tasked with getting the Blues back into the top four after missing out on the Champions League this season, so winning the Premier League would be considered quite the achievement.

The prediction from Neymar will surprise many, with plenty of pundits tipping Liverpool to rival Manchester City for the Premier League title after their summer transfer business.

"We've seen that over the last few games, but it's pleasing how we defended, pleasing how we've fought and got those results". We can improve [on the Bournemouth game], of course. Liverpool have been in flying form this season with a ideal record heading into the worldwide break.

"We've got a few big games when we come back but I think all the lads are just excited to go away with their worldwide teams now and some get a break and we'll come back and we've obviously got a big game against Tottenham".

"But if we lose a game, then we have to stay together and be better".

"Like I say, we have more of the ball so for me it's not bad".
