SpringHill Entertainment appeared to officially announce the lineup with this teaser image on Wednesday.

LeBron James has acquired a dream team.

According to the graphic, Terence Nance is slated to direct and Ryan Coogler will produce the film.

"I loved his vision" for "Black Panther", James said of Coogler to The Hollywood Reporter. Do your dance. Because it's Space Jam.

While not favorably reviewed at the time, became a cult classic, especially among among 90s children. While the critics were mostly negative in their reviews of the film, "Space Jam" earned $230 million worldwide, and associated merchandising generated an additional $1 billion in retail sales.

The soundtrack, which featured R Kelly's ubiquitous I Believe I Can Fly, was also a huge success, going 6x platinum.

"Space Jam 2" has always been rumored, but Wednesday's tweet made it clear the project is a go. "It's so much bigger". James himself has been attached as the new equivalent of Jordan for quite some time, but this will be his first starring role after debuting in Trainwreck.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, production is expected to begin in 2019 during the National Basketball Association offseason. James said he never saw black heroes when he was younger. "And I think Ryan did that for a lot of people". "So for Ryan to be able to bring that to kids, it's wonderful". The original, however, followed Jordan, who teamed up with the Looney Tunes to win a basketball game against the Nerdlucks, who steal the powers of the NBA stars. It's not clear how much hands-on involvement Coogler will have with the film, but just having him involved at all gives Space Jam 2 a huge boost.

While the premise of the latest installment of "Space Jam" being discussed is not rooted in the original story, there have been discussions of involving Jordan, with his level of involvement still to be determined.

We'll keep you posted on further developments.
