News of Chen's Talk resignation comes a little more than a week after Chen's husband Les Moonves was sacked as CBS longtime CEO amid a wave of sexual misconduct allegations.

Julie Chen is leaving her duties as a co-host of "The Talk", days after her husband, Les Moonves, resigned as the CEO of CBS amid sexual misconduct allegations, according to a report Monday night.

"She has decided that her main focus needs to be clearing her husband's name from accusations made 25-30 years ago and tending to her son".

"He has always been a kind, decent and moral human being", Chen wrote in his defense this summer.

CBS did not respond to multiple requests for comment. The company confirmed his exit later that day. Moonves has denied the allegations. "Some of you may be aware of what's been going on in my life the past few days", she said.

Moonves' allies portrayed his stunning departure as the result of a corporate battle between Moonves and CBS's controlling shareholder, Shari Redstone.

Julie Chen, wife of former CBS Corp. When a second wave emerged earlier this month, in a report by journalist Ronan Farrow, she did not appear on the show. It seemed unlikely that she would return to the set, given the obvious tension that would exist every time the hosts discussed the #MeToo movement. She also hosts "Big Brother", which ends September 26.

The insider added: 'I wouldn't be surprised if CBS asked her not to come back'.

Last week, she also signed off from an episode of "Big Brother", which she hosts, with a subtle nod of support: "From outside the Big Brother house ..."

It is said to have been the first time Chen has used her married name on the show shes been hosting for almost two decades.
