Of course, we all know about the well-documented issues Gordon has had since then.

Appearing on Freakonomics Radio's The Hidden Side of Sports, Garoppolo revealed that he still texts with the New England quarterback. If they're in there with someone else, they've got to get their work in.

Belichick doesn't talk to the media on Thursdays. "Even if you're next to me, or across, or down, or defense, I think it's just important to try to get to know everybody in whatever way you possibly can because we're all here to try to do the same thing ... we're just trying to get on the same page".

Gordon's locker is located next to Brady's, which likely was not by accident - although Brady said it's Bill Belichick's decision. "I'd say really in both cases, those two guys have done about as much as they can do in the few days they've been here, or been back in Cyrus' case".

"We'll see how it goes", Belichick said.

Belichick, who declined to speak about Gordon on Tuesday and Wednesday because he said the trade was not official, didn't want to speak about the circumstances that led to Gordon becoming a Patriot.

Gordon, acquired while dealing with a minor hamstring injury, is questionable to play Sunday night in Detroit.

"Fast forward to this week, you're going to give them arguably the top-five receiver in the league and help them out after they looked like the dynasty was beginning to crumble after the Jacksonville Jaguars destroyed them. Now you can limit the number of plays and try and do that, I think we've done that plenty of times; anytime you get new players that's what you try to do". The Patriots are known for having great games after a big loss.
