Ariana Grande has made an emotional statement and video about Mac Miller

The singer had then only posted a photo of the emcee on her Instagram without any caption but today, she is paying a proper tribute to the kind soul.

Ariana Grande is speaking out for the first time about the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller.

The rapper's friend Shane Powers came out in support of Grande earlier this week, describing her as an "unbelievably stabilising force" for the late rapper. "I really wanted to", Grande wrote.

Miller was found dead at his home in Studio City, Los Angeles having suffered an apparent drug overdose. "He was a bright light in this world for his family, friends and fans. thank you for your prayers". He'd been arrested for a DUI and a hit-and-run in May, and he'd gone through a very public breakup with the pop star Ariana Grande.

"I'm so sorry I couldn't fix or take your pain away", Grande says in the post.

A lot of people had kind words about and emotional tributes to Mac Miller when he passed away recently at 26 years old.

"I'm so mad, I'm so sad I don't know what to do".

The rapper is reported to have struggled with substance abuse and depression, and was caught drink-driving while two times over the limit in May.

"She was a fucking G to him". He starts saying, "If we walk", but stops when he notices Ariana is recording him.

After two years of dating, Grande and Miller split in May.

Grande is now engaged to "Saturday Night Live" cast member Pete Davidson.

'I respect and adore him, and I am grateful to have him in my life in any form, regardless of how our relationship changes or what the universe holds for us, ' she wrote.
