12 passengers on two American Airlines flights report flu-like symptoms

Some sick passengers were taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center with non-life-threatening conditions, according to a New York City fire department spokesman.

The CDC official said none of these passengers are "severely" ill.

Federal health officials were on site at John F. Kennedy International Airport in NY this morning when a flight from Dubai had a number of passengers who were severely ill.

Rapper Vanilla Ice was one of 520 passengers aboard a plane traveling to New York's Kenneday Airport from Dubai that had to be quarantined upon arrival because about 100 passengers felt ill.

Twelve passengers on global flights that landed at Philadelphia worldwide Airport on Thursday are showing flu-like symptoms, airport officials said.

"I was scared", said passenger Ishtiaq Khan, who'd taken the flight, Emirates 203, from Dubai to JFK, after connecting from Bangladesh.

Rapper Vanilla Ice tweeted from the upper deck of the plane, saying, "This is insane".

"As a precaution, they were immediately checked by local health authorities and those needing medical attention will be attended to", Emirates said in a statement shortly after the plane landed.

Coben tweeted that passengers were eventually allowed to leave the plane.

"Nine passengers underwent additional medical screening on site before being released, it added". According to CBS New York, after the plane arrived at Terminal 4, it was met by the Centers for Disease Control and Port Authority police. Health workers were evaluating about the passengers as the airplane sat on the tarmac of the airport, authorities said. The plane had stopped in Mecca, where there's a flu outbreak, Fox News reported. The mayor's office also did not respond to requests for comment.
