YouTube has finally rolled out dark mode for Android users which was made available for desktop previous year while for iOS this March.

The feature, which inverts the colour scheme so that the background is black with text picked out in white, is created to reduce eye strain and to make using the app in low-light conditions more pleasant. We think more app developers need to include a dark mode option in their apps. For desktops and laptops, switching on the dark theme is similar to that on Android.

Tap Dark theme to enable it. The new update brings the much-awaited dark mode for Android users. The Settings menu allows you to turn it on or off. It was then revealed that the mobile apps would get it as well starting with the iOS version. The dark version was to reduce stress on the eyes generated by brighter screens used in dark rooms. Apparently, the color isn't really black but it is more like a dark grey.

Anyways though, like we already said, Dark Mode on YouTube for Android isn't available for all the users yet.

When enabling the dark theme, the background in YouTube appears as a dark gray (not black) with white text on top. It [Dark Theme] turns your background dark, and enriches your YouTube experience. For reference, on iOS devices you can find it under Settings Dark theme. The video streaming platform has also rolled out a new update which lets creators add hashtags in video titles and in the description to improve the search ability of their content.
